| Collection and Services : | Please Note: Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the library. Simply bring in your device and connect to the internet Public Computer Use There are 5 Commercial and 3 Mil Network computers available for public use. All computers have CAC readers and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis in one hour blocks. If there is an extensive waiting list, time may be shortened to 30 minutes. Printing is available from from our public access computers. Prints cost 25 cents per page for black and white, and 75 cents per page for color. Scanning is available free of charge. Additional research tools are available through our databases page (click on the databases link at the top of the page). The Microsoft Office Professional suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is available on all computers. Audio Visual The DVD/Video collection includes family favorites from such well-known and popular sources as PBS, A&E, and The History Channel, as well as travel, classic films and television shows, Anime, popular movies and children's selections. Customers must be 18 and over to check out videos game consoles. Both fiction and non-fiction audiobooks titles are available, ranging from the Bible to the latest best-selling authors, as well as children's selections. Italian Collection Our Italian collection includes a wide range of books on Italy and all things Italian. There are beautiful books on art and artists, travel guides and language books, history and cultural studies on the country and individual regions. Books written by Italian authors and some fiction in Italian are also available. Educational Support For individualized research and reference services please contact the reference librarian at 632-5382. The Test Preparation collection in the front room includes study guides in book, video, CD and DVD formats for a wide variety of standardized tests, ranging from the ACT to CLEP tests. Textbooks on a wide variety of subjects can also be found in the library collection. ILL Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery are available for books and articles. Items unavailable at the Aviano Base Library can be obtained from libraries in Europe or the United States in an average of 7-10 days. ILL Request Forms are available at the circulation desk. Languages The library has a variety of materials, from DVDs and CDs to videos and books on learning new languages. From Italian to Japanese to English this collection has materials suitable for weekend travelers and serious students. |
